Origins _*_ Believed to have been imported into China during the Han dynasty.
Parts _*_ Long, transverse hollow tube (usually made of bamboo, jade, etc.) with fingerholes that variates the pitches when air is blown through.
Usage _*_ In chinese ensembles and as a solo instrument.
Reason for Selection _*_ This instrument has an interesting tonal quality to it and it makes all melodies sound so soulful and pure.
